What You Get

In the free mini pack

  • 27 problems on 3 pages, easiest to hardest
  • Estimate the solution, true or false, and which graph
  • Graph and solve, then select all
  • Write an equation, write from a story, and harder graphs
  • Answer key at the end, with a PDF that prints the same everywhere and an editable Word file

With IDV Worksheets

  • Seven question types: Graph & Solve, Write an Equation, Select All, True or False, Estimate & Solve, Which Graph, and Write from a Story
  • Easy: whole-number and simple fraction slopes
  • Medium: adds vertical and horizontal lines and steeper slopes
  • Hard: adds standard form and solutions between grid lines
  • An answer key with every worksheet

More than "find the intersection"

Solving a system by graphing (8.EE.C.8) is about meaning: the point where two lines cross is the one pair of values that makes both equations true. These worksheets ask students to read, check and build systems, not just plot points.

Students decide whether a point is a solution, write a second equation so a system has no solution or infinitely many, match a system to its graph, and turn a two-line story into equations and a graph.

Questions? Good.

What grades are these for?

Grade 8 and Algebra 1. The standard is 8.EE.C.8: analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.

Do the worksheets include no-solution and infinitely-many-solution systems?

Yes. The Write an Equation question type asks students to build systems with one solution, no solution or infinitely many solutions.

Can I choose which question types appear?

Yes. Every question type has its own on/off button in IDV Worksheets, and difficulty never changes your choices. Try it free for 2 days with no credit card.
